Applications are now sought for the 2008 Pfizer Australia Cancer Research Grants.
Pfizer Australia will allocate AU$300,000 per annum to this initiative as part of
their continued commitment to oncology research in this country.
The Cancer Research Grants were established in 2007 to support clinical research
into oncology. They are open to medical graduates who are early in their research
career having commenced research (or returned after an appropriate break) within
the last five years. Funding for the Cancer Research Grants will be up to AU$55,000
(including GST) per annum. Each grant is for 12 months. Under exceptional circumstances
2 years of funding will be provided.
All applications are reviewed initially by two independent expert referees. The
final decision is then made by the Australian Physicians Independent Committee (APIC),
composed of 8 leading specialists.
Applications for the 2008 Pfizer Australia Cancer Research Grants close on 6 June
2008.
